I love the new bathrooms with fun wallpaper - much more spacious with better handicap and family amenities ! Looking forward to the end of the construction and the return of my fav dish: Lauren’s special salad with lentils, grilled veggies, and spicy tofu. Yum! ”

“ What an amazing find! A true gem! I can't take credit for finding The Mason Jar Cafe as I was brought by friends who are from the area. But I'm sure glad they brought me! l love the repurposed building turned into a restaurant that now brings life back into the downtown area. I was here for brunch with friends who recommended the corned beef hash. This is not from a can, but is made with chunks of real corned beef, fresh potatoes and onions, seasoned just right and served with eggs cooked to order, and a choice of various kinds of toast (l got rye). There were several options. I tell you what, l've never had corned beef hash so good. It really was delicious and generous, served with a smile. The server did a fantastic job ensuring we had all we needed. She brought me a refill before I had to ask. Drinks are served in Mason jars - as the name suggests. We dined on the patio. The weather was perfect. I highly recommend this place! ”

“ There are very few restaurants that deserve 5 stars every single time you going but The Mason Jar is one of them! Each time we visit family, a meal here is top of the agenda. The menu is thoughtful and well-curated sourcing ingredients from local farms and vendors. The quality and consistency of the food is excellent. It’s very busy year-round but especially in the summer given the location near the lake communities that draw people from Chicago and other drivable cities. So, we use the online “wait in line” feature which keeps you updated on your place in line via text. If you have breakfast vs. lunch debates in your party, this is a great spot because the menu is deep in both categories. We love the pancakes, quiche, salads, coffee, crab cakes ... and more! If you’re anywhere nearby, it’s worth the wait! ”
